Former SA Men's Health Editor to oversee 31 international editions

Rodale Inc. announced in United States this week that Jason Brown, Editor of Men's Health South Africa, has been named Managing Editor of Men's Health International. Gianni Crespi, President of Rodale International, made the announcement. Brown begins his new assignment on November 1, 2004, and will be based at the company's headquarters in Emmaus, Pennsylvania.

Brown will report to Joe Kita, Editorial Director for Rodale International. In his new role, Brown will oversee editorial content for all 31 international editions of Men's Health, reaching 39 countries. Brown will provide Men's Health global editors with the tools and resources needed to produce high quality, competitive editions. Brown is also charged with training new international editors as Men's Health continues to expand its reach abroad.

"As the largest men's lifestyle magazine in the world, Men's Health has thrived in South Africa under Jason's venerable leadership - experiencing explosive growth from a niche magazine to an award winning consumer title," said Crespi. "I am thrilled to have him come on board to help set the editorial tone and direction for all Men's Health global editions."

Brown comes to Rodale from Men's Health South Africa, published by Touchline Media, a Rodale International partner located in Cape Town. Brown has led the magazine as Editor-in-Chief since 2002, having previously served as Deputy Editor and Features Editor since 1998. Under Brown's leadership, Men's Health South Africa will close the November issue as the largest in its history, with 338 pages.

Brown will be succeeded by Features Editor, Andy Ellis, on the title in South Africa. Prior to joining Men's Health South Africa, Brown worked as a freelance writer and sub-editor for various South African publications, and spent two years working in London as a writer and editor for trade publisher Aviation Industry Press.

Men's Health is the largest men's lifestyle magazine brand in the world, with a worldwide circulation of nearly 4 million in 31 editions serving 39 countries. Published 10 times a year in the U.S. by Rodale Inc.
