NEWSWATCH: The SABC remains firmly in the media spotlight: according to various reports, Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri has said something has to be done to reduce the headcount there; SABC board member Christine Qunta is blaming the troubles on too many restraints and lack of support; the SABC is refuting allegations that it blacklisted certain commentators in a bid to manipulate its news coverage; and it has also appointed Media Monitoring Africa to monitor election coverage.
