As always, marketers, advertising agencies, freelance copywriters, design studios and/or production houses that operate within South Africa are invited to enter in the five above-the-line categories (outdoor, newspaper, radio, TV/cinema and magazine) and a new electronic media (website) category.
In terms of the website category, entries must be received timeously to give judges the opportunity the view the websites before judging. Some of the entries for the previous Ad of the Season competition were too late to be judged and had to stand over to this competition.
Participants must include the following:
A completed entry form: A separate form must be completed for each category should more than one advertisement be entered.
Radio advertisements must be handed in on a cassette or CD and no other recording may be on the cassette or CD. The title of the advertisement and the organisation entering the advertisement must be clearly indicated.
TV advertisements must be handed in on a VHS cassette.
Newspapers and magazines: a clear copy of the original material in its original size or the published advertisement mounted on cardboard will be accepted.
Outdoor advertisements: easy to handle posters must be handed in their original form. In the case of large advertising boards, advertisements on busses/taxi's/trains/bus stops etc., a clear colour photograph (no smaller than a postcard size) is required. Remember - Point-of-sale (POS) entries are included in this category as of this year.
Electronic media: the website must be handed in on a CD in a usable format. The Web address must also be indicated on the entry form.
