Marie Claire moves to Associated Magazines
Associated Magazines, publishers of Cosmopolitan, Femina, House and Leisure, Brides and Homes, Baby and Me and most recently, 0:The Oprah Winfrey Magazine, have announced that they will publish Marie Claire from the August issue.
"This new partnership with Associated Magazines will reinforce the strength of Marie Claire South Africa." says Laurence Hembert, International Executive Director of the Marie Claire Group, "Just like the Marie Claire Group in France, Associated Magazines is well-known for the quality of its upmarket women titles and we very much believe in the opportunities for synergy their stable of magazines will offer to Marie Claire. The Marie Claire Group and Associated Magazines have the same approach in terms of editorial excellence. In France Marie Claire is the number one monthly upmarket women's magazine. There are now 25 international editions of Marie Claire published all around the world in 14 different languages which reach 15 million women each month."

The magazine will be re-located to Associated Magazine's headquarters in the Cape, but there will be a strong Marie Claire team still in place in Gauteng. This development coincides with further growth at Associated Magazines. Baby and Me has moved to a bi-monthly frequency, Popular Mechanics, co-published with Ramsay, Son and Parker is going strong, and 0: The Oprah Winfrey Magazine goes monthly from June. New appointments include Craig Millar: Advertising and Marketing Director, Julia Raphaely: Business Director, Vanessa Raphaely: Editorial Director, Nadine Rubin: Group Consulting Editor, Andreline van Tonder: Circulation Manager and Cathy Day: Production Manager.
