Jagersbacher new area president for Hilton Worldwide, MEA

MCLEAN, US / DUBAI, UAE: Rudi Jagersbacher has been appointed area president, Middle East and Africa, for Hilton Worldwide. Based at the Hilton Worldwide area offices in Dubai Internet City, Jagersbacher will lead the company's operations across the area.

Jagersbacher said "We've built a strong reputation across the Middle East and Africa as the first choice for guests and hotel owners and we've grown to 44 hotels with another 31 in our development pipeline. 2011 promises to bring a wide range of opportunities, including further expansion of our brands, and the team and I look forward to delivering on these."

Jagersbacher joined Hilton Worldwide in 1974. His career has included senior leadership positions at the Savoy and Claridges in London as well as general manager positions in flagship properties such as the Langham Hilton and the Park Lane Hilton. This was followed by vice president roles in London, Dubai and Brussels.

He is also a founding member of the Hilton in the Community Foundation - a grant-making organisation that fundraises throughout Hilton Worldwide properties in Europe to support disadvantaged children and young people.
