Emerging technology the focus of Healthtech Africa 2010

The main focus of the Health Technology Exhibition to be hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre on 18, 19 & 20 February 2010, will be emerging technology and its role in health care, not only in South Africa, but globally. Endorsed by CEASA, it will underline the importance of technological developments in the health-care industry.

Linda Anderman, one of the project co-ordinators of the event, said the exhibition will feature six pavilions focusing on the major disciplines in health care. The pavilions will cover the following: surgery and anaesthesiology; orthopaedics; paediatrics and radiology; cardiology; pathology and oncology; critical care and trauma; dentistry and ophthalmology; and IT and software. The general pavilion will cover nutrition, dermatology, obstetrics, medical engineering, urology, pharmaceuticals, health-care waste management, hospital engineering and facilities management.

International participation

The event will provide the platform for exhibitors to network with visitors and expand sales contacts to local and international visitors, from the pharmaceutical community, private and public hospitals, clinics, laboratories, research institutions and universities. France, Switzerland, and the UK are some of the countries expected to participate in the exhibition.

Exhibitors can expect visitors such as procurement and supply chain managers, surgeons and specialised medical staff, medical technologists, sales and marketing managers, facilities managers, health planning officials, health service delivery officials and IT directors.
