A Gauteng-based financial services group is seeking a quants analyst to join their risk section.
Requirements:
- PhD, master's, or honours degree in a quantitative field
- Five to ten years of experience in quantitative finance
- Programming and development experience: Python, SQL, and Visual Basic
- Skills in database design, financial mathematics, and modelling
- Exposure to artificial neural networks and machine learning (AI)
- Experience working with balance sheet specialists
- Design data templates for financial risk measurement and instrument validation
- Design and implement processes to source information from internal risk systems
- Support financial risk measurement
- Design and implement processes to source market information from external vendors to track financial metric performance
- Work with SAM stresses, Murex, bootstrap curves, and enterprise risk management
- Engage with VAR limits and AML interactions, and stay informed on regulatory changes in market risk
