Table Mountain is still hoping to be listed as one of the 'new seven wonders' of the world but there are just days left for South Africans to put their weight behind Cape Town's bid to have the mountain listed, according to a report in The New Age. 
The Western Cape ended second on the league table representing the South African cities that had been a hit with 2010 FIFA World Cup football fans. More than 108 000 football tourists poured into the region, spending R1.27 billion, according to Cape Town Routes Unlimited (CTRU) CEO Calvyn Gilfellan. 
IOL says that while there have been disruptions to the ferry service that runs to Robben Island each day, the striking workers have now reduced their wage demand from R3500 across the board to R2000 and the workers no longer insist that the ferry service must stop operating between Christmas and New Year.
