Senior Head of Programmes at IIE
Show profile Hide profileWonga is currently based at The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) in Johannesburg, Sandton, South Africa as a Member of the General Management of the IIE and Senior Head of Programme: Faculty of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) respectively. The IIE is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education provider and is part of ADvTECH Ltd, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). Wonga's role includes amongst others to ensure that effective interaction takes place between the faculty/department and the trading divisions with respect to all matters related to the IIE and the faculty.
Wonga's individual goal for 2017/8 is to (i) develop own leadership and management skills while contributing at a senior level to the effectiveness of the IIE and the faculty of ICT respectively; (ii) achieve the role specific KPAs and (iii) contribute to the group and the brands success.
Wonga has worked as a PhD Research Associate at SAP Africa (Product and Innovation Empowerment) in Pretoria, South Africa leading projects such as CoSMoS, Boda-Boda and Overture III. He also worked as a lecturer at the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology respectively leading students in programming subjects like COBOL, C++, Java, and VB.NET. He has worked as a System Engineer (Natural Adabas) at JCI/EDS responsible for mainframe systems.
One of his research goals is to be a reflective researcher who has a broad insight into theories, ideas, methods and practises in ICT research field, particularly e-services.
