Currently, I am historicising a number of monographs of homoerotic male nudes produced and published in South Africa between 1981 and 1991. The project involves considerable archival research into the circulation of homoerotic images under apartheid, but I anticipate that oral histories and extant ephemera obtained from the publisher (whom I am in contact with) will prove indispensable to the study.
