Riyash Misra hails from the sleepy hollow serenity of Pietermaritzburg but was raised in Durban.
Involved in the world of Arts and Drama from the tender age of 5yrs old, Riyash without any formal training surged ahead in the industry dabbling in Theatre, Film and TV work.
Always fascinated by cultures and people Riyash developed a niche to imitate accents and famous South African personalities.
A qualified Attorney Riyash never held back on his true passion and gave up law to pursue entertainment.
Apart from being an Actor, Standup Comedian and MC, Riyash is also a qualified Film and Television Producer, Director and Editor and is carving a niche for himself in the ever growing industry as a young indie filmmaker that's breaking boundaries in the Music Video industry and Feature Film Markets. Toured with many events around the country for different promoters doing his comedy routine as a supporting act for Jae and other artists
In April 2011 he directed and acted in a play called women of the 21st century. That won him great acclaim and won him a nomination for Best Actor in A Comedy at the SA Theatre Awards for his multiple roles he played in the play.
He is also a professional MC and provides his services for both corporate and private clients. He has MC'd events for DSTV Indian, Sutra Magazine (Face of Sutra), Fashion Shows (MAX Fashion, Face of Chery, Ms Cube and Ms India Worldwide. He is also an MC at Suncoast Casino and provides his talents on the casino floor as well as big draw events and special functions at Suncoast such as Bok Town, Corporate Events for Suncoast, Car draws and awards functions.
