Accountant by profession, but also have extensive experience in Strategic Management, Commercial Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, IT/IS, Human Resources Management and Project in addition to my core Financial & Management Accounting competencies.
After an initial six year career in the hospitality industry, I spent 27 years with Anglo American & AngloGold Ashanti in various disciplines and was a Snr Financial Manager when I left in Dec 2005 following the purchase of my own restaurant. In 2006 I was lured back into the gold mining industry by the then new Gold One International group, where I was responsible for the establishment of the Finance & Administration, Supply Chain, IT/IS, HR and numerous other disciplines. This included the introduction and implementation of policies, procedures and change management interventions. Although initially appointed as Group Financial Manager I was the Group Commercial Manager when I accepted early retirement in Nov 2012.
