Lungile “Lungi” Nhlanhla
Born and raised in Durban Kwa Zulu Natal. Young Black female 25 years of age. Multilingual in English and isiZulu. Self driven, motivated and passionate about all creative fields, mainly food. Up for challenges and enjoys stimulating work.
Graduated in 2010 from the Durban University of Technology with a Diploma in Fashion and Textiles. Soon thereafter worked as a wardrobe designer for a musical production company whilst studying BTech in Fashion and Textiles.
Whilst studying her BTech she entered Season 1 of MasterChef South Africa reaching the Top 5 as a finalist from 2011 to 2012. With the experience acquired from the MasterChef journey she joined Media24 for one and a half years as part of the lifestyle team of DRUM Magazine as Junior Food Editor, being one of the youngest to hold this title with no formal training or background in the food industry.
In September 2013 she started her own company “Lungi’s Corner”. A Durban based company focusing on freelance work within the Food industry. Some of which includes doing work as contributing Food Editor of DRUM Magazine, Food Media work such as food styling, editorial work and Private Chef work too.
Lungi’s Corner focuses on recipe development and food services for various clients by testing and conceptualising recipes using their products by incorporating these products in a variety or recipes. These recipes can vary from step by step, quick and easy, budget friendly and “aspirational” ones.
In October 2014, Lungile was appointed as the Brand Ambassador for Olive Pride. This entails creating food recipes using Olive Pride products and sharing the recipes with people via social media.
I would like to be given the opportunity to discuss doing work for you using the professional and life skills I have to offer.
