Lani joined John Brown Media South Africa as Group Managing Director in September 2010. Before that, she spent three years in Shanghai, China on secondment by Naspers as group business director where she helped launch a number of lifestyle titles.
Her wide-ranging publishing experience spans over 20 years, and includes two years as publisher at a content marketing agency, launch publisher of the international health and fitness magazines Shape and Fit Pregnancy in Southern Africa, and as marketing manager for the women's magazine division of media giant Media24.
Lani oversees John Brown's operations in South Africa as well as expansion plans into Africa, and is an executive board member of the international John Brown Media Group. She has been instrumental in winning significant new business for John Brown, grown the staff complement from 15 to more than 60, and has helped the company achieve a B-BBEE Level 1 status.
In her spare time, Lani is an executive leadership coach and is currently completing her Masters in Management Coaching through the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
