I previously held several senior management positions in Internal Audit, Risk Management and Finance at multi-national corporates in the Transport & Logistics, Oil & Gas, and Retail industries. My last corporate role was as Head of Internal Audit for the Europe and Middle East Regions for the Maersk Group, and as deputy to the Chief Audit Executive of the Group, based in Maersk's Head Office in Copenhagen, Denmark for five and a half years up until the end of April 2018. Prior to taking up his position in Denmark, I headed up Maersk's Internal Audit Africa division based in Cape Town, South Africa.
I have also held several senior financial management and directorship positions in the transport and logistics industry in Africa, the Netherlands and the UK before joining Maersk in 2006.
I am a Certified Internal Auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors, an Associate member with the Chartered Governance Institute, and a member of the Institute of Directors in South Africa. I have also completed a Leading Professional in Ethics & Compliance Programme at Bentley University in Boston, USA, the High Potentials Leadership Programme at Harvard Business School, and the Advanced Business Risk Management programme at the University of Cape Town.
I am also a member of the Cape Chamber of Commerce Audit & Risk Committee.
