Invitation to all film, TV and new media accredited training providers

In response to the findings of the NFVF Indaba held in August 2005, the need to establish a Training Provider's Association has become critical. The Film & TV unit at Monash would like to extend an invitation to all accredited Film, TV and New media training providers to participate in the setting up of this association.

The overall goal of setting up the Training Providers Association is to:

Ensure representation on the newly formed Federation.

Share knowledge and resources.

Identify and address problem areas in the sector.

Strategise and collaborate on national training needs.

Lobby funding bodies.

The detailed objectives and activities of this association will be discussed at the first meeting, as well as nomination of a Chairperson and Treasurer.

Should everything go according to plan in terms of setting up this Training Provider forum/association, the intention of the formation of this association can be announced in support of the launch of the Federation at Sithengi in November 2005.

The proposed date for a meeting to discuss the proposal is Wednesday, 19 October 2005, at the Film & TV Unit at Monash South Africa, 144 Peter Road, Ruimsig, Johannesburg. Time: 12h00 - 16h00.

Please email your request to participate in this meeting, stating the following information:
1. Name of organization/ training institution.
2. Contact person.
3. Contact telephone, fax and email details.
4. Postal and physical address of organization.
5. Overall description of training activities.
6. Status of organization i.e. Section 21, CC, Pty (Ltd) etc.
7. How long the organization has been operating.
8. How the organization is funded.
9. Number of students the organization has trained to date.
