On 16 May Game handed over its 100th Amalunchbox mobile kitchen to 935 excited learners at Moriting Primary School in Tembisa, Johannesburg marking an incredible investment in changing the lives of an estimated 100,000 children across South Africa.
Game's CEO, Jan Potgieter, said that the discount chain had invested about R6,5 million since it instituted the project in April 2008. However, the celebration of the 100th donation also had to acknowledge the incredible work of educators and volunteers who served up meals every day as well as the contribution of the Department of Education which oversees the National Schools Nutrition Programme. Amalunchbox kitchens are installed at schools that currently participate in this programme.
