Open Cast Blasting Executive

Our client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced blasting executive with 15 years’ experience to join their dynamic team. The Blasting Executive will be responsible for overseeing all blasting activities and operations in their open cast mining projects. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of blasting techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and execute blasting operations safely and on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant blasting regulations.
• Lead and train blasting teams to follow best practices.
• Develop blasting plans and select suitable materials and equipment.
• Monitor performance to improve efficiency and reduce impact.
• Collaborate with geology, engineering, and site teams.
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety measures.
• Keep detailed records of blasting activities and compliance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or blasting engineering.
• An MBA will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in open-cast blasting operations.
• Strong knowledge of blasting regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
• Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid open cast blasting certificate and relevant safety training.
