XMA Cross Media Awards for 2009The 2009 winners of the WAN-IFRA XMA Cross Media Awards were announced today, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 in Vienna, Austria. These international awards, presented by WAN-IFRA, sponsored by Adobe and supported by Protecmedia, acknowledge successful examples of publishing on multiple channels (print, online, mobile, event, etc.) ![]() The focus this year, in co-operation with the Society for News Design, was on “Cross Media Design and Branding.” The winning entries will be on display in a special exhibition in Hall A, Stand 870 at IFRA Expo (12 -15 October 2009) in Vienna: WinnersCategory A - Small Publications (circulation: below 100 000 copies per day): Category B - Medium-sized Publications (circulation: 100 000 to 250 000 copies per day): Category C - Large Publications (circulation: more than 250 000 copies per day): Mario García, renowned newspaper designer and one of this year's XMA jurors, says, “They came from 16 countries, representing 26 publications and they all had one thing in common: taking the well-known and respected brand of their newspaper and extending it beyond the old definitions of everything from news to advertising.
