D&AD digital president electedLONDON: In a break from tradition, the D&AD Executive Committee will formally elect a president from the digital sector tonight, Wednesday, 12 September 2007. Simon Waterfall, creative director of Poke London, will be D&AD's leading ambassador and spokesperson for the next 12 months and the first creative from the digital sector to take on this high profile role. ![]() Simon Waterfall, creative director of Poke London and new president of D&AD Outgoing president Tony Davidson will hand over the reins at the D&AD Presidents' Dinner at the Royal College of Art in London. “Over the coming year, I want to use all of D&AD's communication channels to shine a bright creative light and share a little electricity with our members, clients and the rest of the world,” says Simon Waterfall. “I'm really looking forward to bringing more of D&AD's amazing content to a wider audience.” “Throughout D&AD's 45-year history, presidents have come from the traditional advertising and design worlds,” says Davidson. “Simon's election acknowledges the huge influence that digital media have on both arenas – it's become a creative playground for all disciplines.
