Qualified Auto Electrician - George, Western Cape
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Auto Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in a variety of vehicles.
This role requires a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, the ability to diagnose and solve complex problems, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and software.
- Install, repair, and maintain vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, battery systems, and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals to accurately perform repairs and installations.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
- Keep detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive electrical technology and repair techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining repairs and costs to clients as necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician.
- Must have completed your trade test (Auto Electrician Red Seal).
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components.
- Must have a mechanical background.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Certification or diploma in automotive electrical systems or related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
