The Mother City Queer Project (MCQP) celebrated its 30th anniversary on 14 December 2024 at Gardens Commercial High School in Cape Town with a dazzling ‘Mother of Pearl’ theme. The venue transformed into an otherworldly escape, featuring four vibrant dancefloors: Purgatory, The Devine, The Depth, and The Pulse.

On Saturday, 4 January 2025, the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse hosted the 164th L’Ormarins King’s Plate, a prominent event in South African horse racing.

The V&A Waterfront hosted a spectacular New Year's Eve celebration, solidifying its status as Cape Town's premier party spot. Thousands of locals and visitors gathered across the precinct for an evening brimming with live music, festive spirit, and world-class entertainment.

Crocs celebrated Sandals Day on 12 December 2024 with an event at Cabo Beach Club, showcasing their sandals collection to influencers and media. The event featured summer-inspired activities, including personalisation stations for Jibbitz charms and bespoke embroidery for beach towels.

At the recent Effies SA, hosted by the Association for Communication & Advertising (ACA), the Grand Effie was awarded to Halo, for its campaign for its client, Pineapple.

Birdwatching at The Loeries Episode 2 is the Emotion Episode and features special guests Neo Segola, head of creative at Le Pub, part of the Publicis Group, Sharleen James, chair of the ACA and marketing practice lead at Accenture Song, Tebogo Skwambane, WPP country manager, Terry McKenna, executive creative director of The Odd Number and rounding it off Carl Willoughby, chief creative officer of TBWA / Hunt Lascaris.

The first Loerie Award winners were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Cape Town City Hall on the 10 October 2024.
