The sixth Match in Africa took place at the Cape Town Stadium on 7 February 2020. The record breaking 51'945 fans witnessed history in action, when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal went head-to-head raising USD 3.5 million (approximately R54.6 million) for the charitable Roger Federer Foundation. The Match in Africa also showcased a host of local talent in between the matches, including the legendary Ndlovu Youth Choir and the energetic Zip Zap Circus....

Niraj Zaveri, Justin Ebert and Nomad’s Glenn Martin highlight US mass shootings in #notinourclass
Niraj Zaveri and Justin Ebert along with Nomad CEO Glenn Martin have highlighted the unfortunate proposed guns and weapons training for educators in the US in a video. The training is in light of the high rate of mass shootings in the country – especially at high schools. The team set out to create a film that highlights the heartbreaking reality of what the government is asking teachers to do. In a move away from humour or shocking visuals, they simply wanted to tell the truth and deliver the impossible magnitude of having to carry out such a request. Working with Nomad, the team wrote and released the film themselves under the #notinourclass hashtag on Twitter and Instagram, hoping to call attention to the issue and prove that it isn’t a viable solution. The spot aims to inspire viewers in the US to vote for candidates who have a more gun-smart strategy, acknowledging that ‘teachers shouldn’t have to learn how to kill’ to keep school and students safe....

TBWA and Fort create a piece for MTN for Deaf Awareness Month
To mark Deaf Awareness Month, MTN enlisted TBWA and Fort to work on a special piece aimed at highlighting the *130*3272*29# emergency number. TBWA and Fort then produced a special track with Lazarusman, which is only in sign language and has a beat that was produced specifically for deaf people. To add to the visual aesthetics, TBWA and Fort also commissioned well-known photographer Lee Roy Jason, who photographed the photo stills that was attached to the campaign as a whole. The video is part of MTN's effort at spreading awareness around Deaf Awareness Month as well as their emergency number, *130*3272*29#, aimed at assisting both people of hearing and the deaf community. The song came with a beat that was produced specifically for deaf people, using production techniques that allow the deaf community to feel the beat in the absence of hearing it....

The company's shift to more environmentally-friendly packaging falls in line Mars Incorporated's Sustainability in a Generation strategy. To create awareness around the new packaging, Orbit has also launched the Pledge to Plant campaign under the banner #JustOneThing. In the spirit of Mandela Day, Bizcommunity staff members volunteered to spend time with learners at Manenberg Primary School in Cape Town. The volunteers interacted and read to 70 learners between Grades R-1. The school is part of the Western Cape Education Department's literacy programme and is an ongoing project in underprivileged communities.
