    Teddies raise a fortune

    The recent TV Bears Banquet hosted by The Children's Hospital Trust raised R600 000 for The Red Cross Children's Hospital. Popular local shows Egoli, 7de Laan, Backstage, SuperSport, Isidingo, Generations, Top Billing, 3 Talk, Carte Blanche, The Weakest Link and The Apprentice each dressed a designer teddy. The TV Teddies were modelled by their co-stars and auctioned together with memorabilia from the TV shows. Sponsor De Beers' 'Bear of Hope' sold for R70 000.
