South African audiences will once again have the opportunity to view Japanese cinema during the Japanese Film Festival at Cinema Nouveau sites around the country this month. There are four movies on the line-up for each city and DStv's ANIMAX channel (126) will be participating in this year's festival. The festival will launch at V&A Nouveau in Cape Town from 27 February to 1 March 2009, and then move to Brooklyn Nouveau in Pretoria from 13 to 15 March, before going to Jo'burg's Rosebank Nouveau from 20 to 22 March. Entrance to all the films is free. The films to be shown are:
• A Stranger of Mine
• Breathe In, Breathe Out
• Kamikaze Girls
• Madadayo
Each of the programmed feature films will be preceded by an episode of the highly popular animé series Last Exile.
