BBC's global audience up 9 million
The Global Audience Estimate (GAE) of BBC's international services has increased to 265 million people a week, an increase of 9 million people on the previous year. The GAE measures the combined reach of BBC World Service, BBC World News, bbc.com/news and BBC Media Action, across the world. The biggest growth is in Russia, with the audience more than doubling to 6.9 million weekly, as people turn to the station for trustworthy and impartial news. Its Ukrainian Service also reflects this trend, with its audience more than trebling to over 600,000 over the last year. Independent research from NewsWhip has shown that the BBC is the world's most retweeted news brand.
