Vodacom has pledged its support to the Gift of Vision programme along with the Western Cape health department and the Health Foundation. As part of the programme, underprivileged learners (between grades R and 7) in Paarl are able to have their eyes tested and receive a free pair of prescription glasses as the network purchased 369 pairs of glasses worth R80,000.
Learners were presented with their new glasses at the launch of the Gift of Vision programme, which was also attended by the ministers of health and education, Vodacom, Western Cape health department and The Health Foundation representatives.
