Islam Online... offline
One of Egypt's most popular online media sources, Islam Online, has gone offline following a dispute between employees and management.
The dispute apparently began in January when the site's owners are alleged to have removed a number of senior editors from their positions, but apparently not replaced them. That led employees to draft a memorandum to Egyptian-born Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi, the site's founder, seeking clarification on the future direction of the site. A total of about 250 employees signed the memorandum - and were then allegedly questioned by an investigative committee...
