    Adobe strikes back at Flash bashers

    Adobe has defended Flash following Apple CEO Steve Jobs' open letter earlier this week, which was highly critical of the Adobe technology. Adobe said Apple's position on Flash is strictly business and that Jobs' critique of Flash on a technical level is a smoke screen. Meanwhile, Microsoft has apparently sided with Apple on the issue, calling HTML5 "the future of the Web."

    In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen responded specifically to several of Jobs' critiques. Regarding Jobs' assertion that Flash is the primary reason Macs crash, Narayen stated that OS X itself is equally responsible. He also denied that Flash causes excessive battery drain.
