    Viacom International Media Networks takes The Mo'nique Show to SA

    LONDON, UK / JOHANNESBURG, SA:: Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), a unit of Viacom Inc, has announced the sale of BET Networks' top-rated late-night talk show, The Mo'Nique Show, to South African national broadcaster, SABC.

    Hosted by the no-holds-barred Academy Award-winning actress and comedienne Mo'Nique, the show draws in millions of viewers to its mix of comedy, chat, music and guests from across the spectrum of music, entertainment, sports and politics. Debuting Saturday 2 April 2011, the show will air weekly on SABC 2 at 9pm.

    Filmed in front of a live studio audience in Atlanta, Georgia, The Mo'Nique Show is claimed to be the only late-night TV programme showcasing entertainment through innovative and humour-filled segments. The show also pays homage to legendary stars, as well as spotlighting today's celebrities and their contributions to improving our communities and the world at large.

    SABC has also acquired MTV reality strands The Hills, Cribs and Run's House for their youthful entertainment offering on SABC 3, and Nickelodeon teen sitcoms iCarly and True Jackson for SABC 2.
