New categories added to Marie Claire fashion awards

Winners will be announced in the following categories:

• Best big retailer supporting local design
  
• Best online fashion retailer
  
• Best emporium supporting local design
  
• Business savvy accessories designer
  
• Business savvy fashion designer
  
• Business savvy emerging fashion designer

Proudly SA will give free membership to the three winning local designers, which will give them access to the support and promotional activities launched by Proudly SA to promote locally manufactured goods and services.

The local jury for this year's awards includes:

• Dion Chang, trend analyst and forecaster
  
• Amanda du Plessis, retail consultant
  
• Lucilla Booyzen, founding director of SA Fashion Week and board member of World Fashion Council
  
• Angie Hattingh, iFashion on-line editor
  
• Jacqueline Myburgh Chemaly, editor of VISI
  
• Sharon Becker, Marie Claire fashion director
  
• Adam Levin, fashion consultant
  
• Felipe Mazibuko-Kunene, style architect
  
• Stefanie Vieira, executive director of Cape Town Fashion Council
  
• Deon Redman, creative director of African Fashion International

All the international and local winners will also be profiled in the October issue of Marie Claire, on sale from 15 September.
