MONTREUX, SWITZERLAND: MediaCom has been named Network of The Year at the 2012 Global Festival of Media Awards. The Global Festival of Media Awards recognise excellence in media thinking around the world and celebrate the most innovative and effective work.

At the ceremony in Montreux, Switzerland earlier this week, Stephen Allan, chairman and CEO of MediaCom Worldwide, picked up the award on behalf of the network. MediaCom was awarded for its work on Hasbro, GlaxoSmithKline, Norway's Anti-Racism Centre, as well as The Coalition for Mine Free Israel.

The extent of MediaCom's domination was underlined by the number of campaigns that the agency had shortlisted: 27 entries in total across the 14 categories.

MediaCom was also named Agency Network of the Year at the Global Festival of Media in 2010, and has been named Agency Network of the Year for three consecutive years at the M&M Awards from 2009-2011 - claimed to be an industry first.

Stephen Allan said: "Winning Global Network of the Year is tough. To do so twice in three years is an incredible achievement and a sign that the whole MediaCom network is producing consistently excellent work. Not only have we won more categories than any other agency but we have also been shortlisted more times than anyone else. It is truly down to our people that we are able to deliver such amazing results for our clients around the world. Combined with our status as winners of the M&M Awards for the last three years, this is a vote of confidence in our network from advertisers and our peers."
