UCT hosts wine business info evening
The programmes have been run for the past two years by the Corporate Learning Department of the UCT GSB, in conjunction with the University of Adelaide, Australia. They have now been enhanced to make them even more relevant to the wine industry in general and the South African wine industry in particular.
The two programmes are SAQA accredited and offered on a modular format which means students don't have to be resident in Cape Town. They are: the Associate in Management (AIM) in Wine Business Management (NQF5), a Certificate entry-level qualification that does not require applicants to have a tertiary qualification, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Wine Business Management (NQF7).
The programmes offer a practical, sensorial as well as theoretical overview of the wine making value chain from the growing of grapes to the marketing and distribution of wine. Technical, business and management knowledge are covered and these programmes provide a unique, value-for-money learning opportunity that is customised for the wine industry.
The Information Session will include a presentation by Associate Professor Tom Ryan, Director of the Corporate Learning Department on the success of the programmes to date and the updates for the coming year. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers afterwards.
The Session will begin at 18:00 in the Exhibition Hall at the UCT GSB campus in Portswood Road, Greenpoint. Please contact Estelle on 082 637 3457 or to book a seat.
