Schumacher makes big screen debut with PUMA

Michael Schumacher and his low-flying red Ferrari will make their big screen debut as part of a new PUMA marketing strategy that is going to thrill South African Formula 1 fanatics. In a first for sports broadcasting in South Africa, live Grand Prix coverage from Bahrain and San Marino will be screened into Cinemark cinemas in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban in April.

Each cinema has its own satellite dish and decoder, so fans get to see their favourites dicing on the big screen and experience the ear-splitting roar of their engines through the cinema's audio processors.

PUMA's involvement in Formula 1 follows the signing of a multi-year contract to become the official supplier of fireproof racing gear, including the innovative Future Cat racing shoe, to Schumacher and his Ferrari racing team.

The marketing campaign is restricted to readers of FHM who can win tickets in the April edition by entering a competition via SMS or online. Four hundred of the magazine's readers will be joined by PUMA dealers and staff at the F1 cinema-screenings.
