Call for entries for the Cape Town World Cinema Festival

Sithengi invites filmmakers to submit films for the Cape Town World Cinema Festival, 12 - 20 November 2004. The submission deadline is 30 August 2004.

The Cape Town World Cinema Festival aims to showcase African and more specifically South African films in the context of other "International Independent or World Cinema" films. The Cape Town World Cinema Festival occurs at the same time as the Sithengi Film and TV Market, which will take place from the 16th to the 19th of November 2004 at the Artscape Complex, Cape Town.
 
Entries are accepted in the categories: feature films, documentaries and short films. Through the promotion of top quality international films, we hope to simultaneously place value on African films.
 
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
The Lionel Ngakane Newcomer Award
Best Feature Film
Best Documentary
Best Short Film
Best Director
Best Writer
Best Actress
Best Actor
Signis Jury Prize
Amade Jury Prize

The 2004 Sithengi Film and Television Market, 16 - 19 November, a component of the Cape Town World Cinema Festival, 12 - 20 November, also sees the first ever Sithengi Talent Campus as part of an extended programme of events at the Market.
 
The Sithengi Talent Campus is presented in partnership with the Berlin Film Festival and modeled on their highly successful Talent Campus and offers a platform for students as well as aspiring and established filmmakers to meet and exchange views and ideas with these experts on various aspects of the filmmaking process.
