Newspaper Awards on track
Journalists, photographers, graphic and layout artists and columnists are encouraged to send in their best work and to do it soon. The entry deadline is 10 February 2006!
Professor Guy Berger, head of media studies and journalism at Rhodes University, will be joined by Sarah Crowe, Johan De Wet, John Dludlu, Ethel Hazelhurst, Portia Kobue, Peter Magubane and Joe Thloloe. New to the team are presenter and journalist Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu and former Defence Force chief Siphiwe Nyanda.

Winners in each category will be awarded R10,000 cash, a golden Mondi Shanduka Nib trophy and a framed certificate at a ceremony to be held on 5 April 2006.

Mondi Shanduka Lifetime Achiever Award
The Newspaper Association of South Africa and Mondi Shanduka Newsprint are currently calling for nominations for the Mondi Shanduka Lifetime Achiever Award. This prestigious accolade honours individuals who have made a sustained and extraordinary contribution to newspaper journalism in South Africa over a career of at least 20 years.
Judges are looking for individuals who have demonstrated impeccable ethics and craft excellence, thereby enriching South African public life.
