Mondi Shandukas call for entries

They want your best work - the news breakers, the scoops and in-depth features. They want your provocative columns and probing pieces of investigative writing. They want your captivating photographs, social commentary in words, pictures or graphics, as well as innovative layouts and spreads. And they want them before 10 February 2006.

The Mondi Shanduka newspaper awards are calling newspaper journalists, reporters, layout artists and photographers to submit their best work as published during 2005.

Judges include Professor Guy Berger (Convenor), Sarah Crowe, Johan De Wet, John Dludlu, Ethel Hazelhurst, Portia Kobue, Peter Magubane, Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu, Siphiwe Nyanda and Joe Thloloe.

The Newspaper Association of South Africa (NASA) and Mondi Shanduka Newsprint are also calling for nominations for the Mondi Shanduka Lifetime Achiever Award. which seeks to honour individuals who have made a significant contribution towards furthering the interests of newspaper journalism in South Africa over a career of at least 20 years.
