Clover enters the tea market

The ice tea market in South Africa, although currently in a growth phase, has been lacking innovation for some time. Recognising this, Clover Beverages recently conducted market research into international ice tea trends, before launching their new ice tea range. The global demand for health and wellness emerged as a trend that required further development and exploration.

Clover's current Manhattan Ice Tea range already contains the powerful antioxidant, Teavigo, but now, with the launch of their new Green Ice Tea variant, Clover has stepped up their game. The health benefits of green tea are already known throughout the world and now Clover has converted this beverage into ice tea and combined it with two unique, delicious summer flavours. They are Manhattan Green Ice Tea, Crisp Apple & Mint and Manhattan Green Ice Tea, Ruby Grapefruit & Strawberry.

The green tea extract has been further boosted with the addition of Ginseng in the Apple & Mint, for improved concentration, energy and stamina and Gingko Biloba in the Ruby Grapefruit & Strawberry for improved memory and additional antioxidants. Together with Teavigo, the new Green Ice Tea range provides the consumer with the ultimate combination of elements for 'health in a bottle'.

These beverages are aimed at the 20 - 35 year old, LSM 8-10, active, health conscious and predominantly female market. and are now available at all major retailers and convenience stores countrywide. Manhattan Green Ice Tea comes in a 500ml bottle with a sports cap to provide immediate refreshment.

Retail information: the bottles are from PET PAK, the labels designed by UPG and the beverages are packed in shrink cases of 4x6 units per case.
