    MTN offers brand value for shareholders

    MTN was ranked 79th in the annual Millward-Brown Brandz Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands survey released on Tuesday (21 May)‚ with its brand valued at US$11.4bn
    MTN offers brand value for shareholders

    The survey rated Apple as world's most valuable brand at US$185bn‚ followed by Google at US$114bn‚ IBM at US$113bn and McDonalds at US$90bn.

    Naspers's associate Tencent was ranked 21 with a US$27bn brand.

    MTN made its debut in the survey last year at 88 and is the only African country in the top 100.

    Millward-Brown said the total value of the brands in its top 100 rose 7% to US$2.6trn following flat growth of 1% the previous year.
