'Dine With Us' launches in South Africa
The popular international concept 'Dine with Us' has launched in South Africa in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. The social dining network urges South Africans to get offline, out of their comfort zone and meet new people for networking purposes, in the real world.
The website offers selected dinner dates at top restaurants and then offers these choices to its network. People book, pay in advance and then arrive to spend an evening with strangers to socialise offline. All meals are prepaid online and include tax, with each person billed individually for drinks at the venue.
The concept inspires old-fashioned conversation among casual acquaintances, without keyboards and screens. Joining is free and members browse through the meals available in their city, find one they are interested in and then book. The selection can be based on the restaurant, the menu, the people who have already booked or by an interest group, which unites them.
Once the booking is made, a meal ticket is sent via email and must be printed out and brought to the restaurant.
