New spa at Knysna boutique hotel

On Knysna's Thesen Island, the site of the original power station, the Turbine Boutique Hotel has opened its Amani African Spa. The hotel has kept the original wood burning boiler, four electricity generators and much of the equipment, which it has fully restored to blend in with the décor themes.

The hotel has 24 bedrooms and suites, all individually decorated and named to reflect the rich cultural, historical and geographic diversity of Knysna. In addition there is the 90 seater Island Café, the Tapas Bar, a pool overlooking the Island and bar decks plus a jetty for motorized pontoon cruises on the Knysna Lagoon.

There are a host of modern facilities which tastefully complement the refurbished building and equipment, including a library with internet computers, fully stocked wine cellar, curio shop, concierge facilities and an art gallery showcasing local South African talent.
