Auto Trader relaunches mobisite

Auto Trader has relaunched its mobisite to improve the interaction between buyers and sellers and make buying and selling cars fast and simple, using a 'Remember When' campaign.

The mobile website accounts for 20% of monthly online traffic, providing consumers with an opportunity to search over 40 000 cars.

The industry-leading classifieds listing company is technically a digital marketing company that also produces five print magazines.

According to its MD, George Mienie, the company closely monitors the habits of its users, both online and in print and it has followed the migration from traditional print magazines to the increasing traffic on its online and mobile platforms.

"In 2008, the company sold around 133 000 magazines a month. This year, it has slowed production due to the changing demand of print magazines; although it still shifts 63 000 copies a month, indicating that there is still a print market for cars. Meanwhile, the online traffic has exploded to over 800 000 unique visitors per month."

The mobile site is the most visited of its kind and boasts a growth rate of 1400% since 2011.

The mobile site has also been designed for Apple's iOS devices through the development of a simple to use iOS app.
