The CWEIC, established in July 2014 with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat and member Governments, is a not-for-profit membership organisation which facilitates trade and investment throughout the 53 states of the Commonwealth, and supports private sector companies and governments to promote economic activity. They work with member companies to expand their businesses and to help with new investments in any Commonwealth country.

The AMPP Group, who work at the crossroads of cutting-edge technology and fully integrated client services to deliver technology-driven initiatives to both B2B and B2C audiences, partnered with the CWEIC to spearhead the Commonwealth Trade Initiative.

“By using technology we can be relevant to businesses across the Commonwealth,” said Lord Marland, Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, “we are excited to be partnering with AMPP on this initiative."

The Commonwealth Trading and Collaboration platform is a cloud-based platform designed to connect buyers and suppliers, and will allow organisations across the 53 Commonwealth Countries to:

  • Establish direct contacts with their business counterparts in the Commonwealth
  • Gain access to current market intelligence across the 53 member states, unlocking huge investment potential
  • Promote their products and services to thousands of platform members
  • Access thought leadership content on doing business in the Commonwealth
  • Develop lucrative trade opportunities
  • Consult with experts when entering new and emerging markets

“We are currently experiencing a technology-driven revolution in the way businesses collaborate. The Commonwealth is uniquely positioned to lead the way in leveraging technology to facilitate trade and business globally.” Pierre Proner, CEO, AMPP Group.

Into Africa Project Logistics (IAPL) recognised this gap when approached by the AMPP Group & CTI to partner with them and didn’t hesitate to take up the opportunity.

“We were thrilled at the announcement of this collaborative development in November last year, and the Commonwealth Trade Initiative's subsequent request for us to get on board, as the opportunity for further growth into Africa provided by this ability to connect effortlessly with potential business partners, in real time in an e-community, is just phenomenal,” says Michelle Stuart, General Manager of IAPL. “IAPL takes on the highly specialised field of project logistics as our main focus, and we have always taken pride in staying current with the latest technology and equipment to achieve the best results.”

IAPL is strategically located in Durban and they enjoy the benefits of a strong network of agents and are members of the GPLN and XLP networks, enabling them to address project logistics on a global scale, for customers in the OEM industry, mining houses, parastatal departments and agencies around the world. This platform sets to only increase their exposure to that market.
