The competition, which was held for the ninth time this year, attracted 552 entrants from 24 countries. A panel of 100 sparkling wine experts judged the wines over three days and awarded 38 Gold and 147 Silver medals.
Pongrácz, which celebrates its 21st anniversary this year, sells at approximately R90 per bottle in leading outlets, with the Boschendal Le Grand Pavillon Brut Rosé retailing at around R92.
