It's a wrap at the airport

Wideopen Platform, a Primedia Unlimited subsidiary, recently joined forces with MTN to take brand ownership of two of South Africa's major airports.

Wideopen Platform wrapped 26 pillars in Johannesburg International's Domestic Arrivals drop off zone with MTN branding on 5m wide PVC material wrapped with light tension technology and a commercial zipper. The graphics, developed by Young & Rubicam, completely transformed the area with 772m² of MTN communications.

Durban International Airport's Domestic Terminal was also wrapped up - 85 pillars in all.

Caryn Cohen, Wideopen Platform CEO, says: "The sites are strategically located and really complemented the media brief - not only from a location perspective but also in terms of magnitude and innovation.

"MTN wanted exposure that was definitive and they got just that - an unmistakable MTN brand presence in key locations. The sites tie in perfectly with MTN's payoff line, 'Yello Africa'. Travellers commuting between the two major cities immediately feel the strong MTN presence."
