Global strategic partnership for outdoor advertising

ATLANTA: The recently announced multi-year global partnership between The Coca-Cola Company and Clear Channel Outdoor, designed to create and enhance new and customised outdoor programs for Coke's wide array of brands, is reported to be a first between a global advertiser and outdoor media company.

The agreement will enable the companies to work together more efficiently and strategically in the design, development and placement of billboards, signs and other outdoor elements in support of the beverage company's marketing communications efforts.

"I believe our partnership with Clear Channel Outdoor will help us improve the way we plan and execute outdoor advertising, a form of communications we have used to speak to consumers throughout our 120-year history," says Scott McCune, vice president, integrated marketing for The Coca-Cola Company.

"In fact, this partnership could not have been timelier for us, as we are in the process of launching globally our new Coke Side of Life brand marketing communications campaign, which relies heavily on creative outdoor executions."

"As the first marketer to commit to a true global outdoor campaign, Coca-Cola has again demonstrated its marketing leadership," comments Paul Meyer, global president, Clear Channel Outdoor.

"We are excited to be working with Coca-Cola in each local Media Relations Department market to meet the specific needs of that market. With our powerful global combination of billboards, street furniture and transit displays, Clear Channel Outdoor is uniquely positioned to reach consumers around the world."
