The extra long show will see Vuyo and Lee-Anne guide viewers on the historic events by broadcasting from the Drakenstein prison in Cape Town to commemorate the release of Nelson 'Madiba' Mandela. Some of the reception committee members from UDF, as well as the elders who went to fetch Nelson Mandela are expected to join in the conversations with the Morning Live team.
The opening of parliament will be broadcast live from Cape Town on the same day from 6- 8.30pm and followed by President Jacob Zuma' 'State of the Nation address'. The President's response to the Parliamentary Debate will be broadcast on 16 February from 2-3pm and the Budget Speech will be broadcast on 17 February from 2-4pm.
To make up for the cancellation of the 7de Laan episode on 11 February, the double episode is scheduled for 12 February from 6-7pm and features the cast celebrating (or not celebrating) Valentine's Day.
The channel will also carry the live broadcast from the Pretoria State Theatre of the South African Film and Television Academy (SAFTA) 2010 awards on Saturday 20 February from 8-11pm.
