M-Net launches first local English drama series

M-Net launches the pilot episode of its first local English drama series, Snitch, on Thursday, 15 July, 2004 at 19:30pm. Produced by Endemol South Africa, Snitch is part police drama, part psychological thriller, with a love story and black humour thrown in for good measure.

Oracle Airtime Sales has announced that headline sponsorship of the 22 episodes to follow, beginning 22 July, 2004, is now available. Advertisers' sponsorship of M-Net programmes first took off with the channel's various reality offerings from Big Brother through to Project Fame currently being aired. This has now spilled over into series, with sponsors acknowledging the value of aligning themselves to new, groundbreaking shows, or series that have proved popular season after season.

Outsurance received considerable exposure during Idols 2 as the headline sponsor and recently took their sponsorship activity a step further by sponsoring one of kykNET's top-performing shows, Song vir Katryn, now in its second season.
