Teens on the GO

The teen channel on DSTV, GO is performing even better due to a recent reshuffling of the programme schedule says Oracle Airtime Sales.

GO was ranked as the 13th most popular channel amongst all local television channels during the period of the April 2004, amongst DStv subscribers aged 13-19. This is quite an achievement, says Oracle, considering that at the time of the report, the channel was only eight months old. Interestingly, patronage on GO is moving upwards, not only amongst DStv children, but also DStv adults.

During the April 2004, the share of DStv stations was split amongst teenage viewers between Cartoon Network with 33%, MTV with 39% and GO with 28%.

The No 1 show on GO during this period was Friends with 5.2 ARs and 14.2% share. Some of the new programmes that are distinguishing themselves are 'The O.C.', 'Boarding House', 'Punk'd', 'Run of the House', 'Trigger Happy TV', 'Friends', as well as its 2-hour omnibus version on Saturdays, 'Smallville' and 'Jamie Kennedy'.
