Sanlam Money Game launches competition for start ups

Sanlam is offering a R60 000 start up prize for aspiring business leaders in South Africa, in the Sanlam Money Game Start Up Capital Competition.

In Conjunction with Sanlam's Nexus Financial Solutions, KPMG and KBI, Sanlam is offering one determined entrepreneur the flying start it knows their business ideas deserve.

Executive Director of Sanlam, Deon Lessing is incredibly excited about the competition and sees it as a way of expanding the success of Sanlam Money Game.

"Only a lucky few can enter the Sanlam Money Game TV series, but Sanlam believes that everyone with a great business idea has the potential to be successful. This is why we've developed the Sanlam Money Game Start Up Capital Competition," Lessing says.

"South Africans are known worldwide for their innovation, determination and drive to succeed. What we're doing is simply giving these core ingredients the space and resources with which to flourish."

Sanlam already supports business initiatives in the country, but believes that actions speak louder than words, which is the foundation of the competition.

The Sanlam Money Game Start Up Capital Competition will ensure that the winner receives not only a great start, but also the best advice, the best marketing and the best support anyone could hope for.

Sanlam will supply the start up capital of R 60 000, while KBI will help the winner position his or her product or service. KPMG will look after the cash flow management and Sanlam's Nexus Financial Solutions will conduct a financial needs analysis of the new enterprise, pointing out potential problem areas and assist the winner by making contact with financiers if further financing is needed.

"It's not simply a start up package that we're offering. We'll supply a complete support chain, so that Sanlam and its partners will guide the winner on the path to create their own wealth," says Lessing.
